Getting “Cans in Hands”: My Takeaways from the Startup CPG Event

I recently had the opportunity to attend Startup CPG’s Grocery Run event in Los Angeles. I was surrounded by a host of entrepreneurs and leaders in the consumer packaged goods space looking to further their industry knowledge and expand their brand’s store positioning. It’s inspiring to bask in their creativity, ambition, and drive to succeed in a competitive marketplace.

While there, I spoke with different brands about their distribution strategies; a phrase that came up a lot is “get cans in hands.” It summarizes what startups are trying to do: get a new product into the hands of the right people by securing the right retail placement.
